About this project
In the year of 2019, on November 29th, I set a goal. One that I would not succeed at directly, unfortunately.
However.
It would go on to bare fruits I had never anticipated.
The goal was simple. For each day of the month of October I would pen a short horror story. It did not need to be very long, but it was a challenge born out of boredom and desire for inkshedding.
Within a few days of the challenge I soon encountered a frightful bout of writers block. I spent a fair bit of time seeking inspiration, to no avail.
Until I went to sleep that night.
What greeted me in my slumber was something far more than I had ever gambled for. To this date I know nought what I had awoken, but it was powerful. As if beckoned on by my desire for muse, nightmares came to me every single night that October, right up until that very Hallow’s Eve.
At first I was wholly unprepared. I awoke the first few nights with a start (something I was quite unaccostumed to, you see, I don’t get nightmares on the norm), soaked in sweat and caught off guard.
But by the fourth night I was ready. Pen and notepad by my bedside I drifted off and, soon enough, they came. And this time, each time, when I awoke, I snatched my notebook and like a madman scribbled down what fleeting memories I could by the pale light of my bedside lamp.
Over the years since I have spent my time reviewing my notes and one by one, I intend to commit them down on this website for all to enjoy (though in a much more tangible and digestable form for the reader, of course.)
Please enjoy… My Nightmares
